Welcome Message
It is my great honor to serve as the President of the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicologic Pathology. My name is Satoru Takahashi, and I am a professor at Nagoya City University. I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of you.
Preparations for the 42nd Annual Meeting are currently underway at the Department of Experimental Pathology and Tumor Biology, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Nagoya City University, where the conference secretariat has been established. The meeting will be held over two days, on Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23, 2026, at WINC Aichi (Aichi Industry and Labor Center), conveniently located near Nagoya Station. The meeting is planned primarily as an in-person event; however, to accommodate overseas participants, we plan to offer live streaming of oral presentations, including special lectures, symposia, and workshops.
This annual conference typically brings together over 500 researchers in toxicologic pathology from Japan and abroad, providing a vibrant forum for active discussion and information exchange. We anticipate a similar number of participants this year. Professor Kiyokazu Ozaki of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Setsunan University will serve as Chair of the Program Committee, working with a team of 11 committee members representing academia, public and private research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and related industries to develop a compelling scientific program.
The theme of this year’s conference is: “Sustainable Society and Health: Understanding Biological Responses and Environmental Risk Assessment through Toxicologic Pathology.” The goal is to explore how living organisms respond to environmental factors and the mechanisms by which pathological conditions develop, thereby contributing to more accurate environmental risk assessments and the advancement of a sustainable society.
On the day prior to the main conference, Wednesday, January 21, we will also hold the 38th Slide Conference and a review session for the certification examination for toxicologic pathology specialists, as in previous years.
The venue, WINC Aichi, is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from JR Nagoya Station. We sincerely hope that many of you will attend and that the meeting will serve as a valuable opportunity for fruitful discussions and meaningful exchanges. We look forward to welcoming you in person in Nagoya.
